Campaign Guidelines

Bleed #ForTheThrone is a global blood drive in which we are asking fans if they, just like the characters in the show, would bleed for the throne. In collaboration with Giant Spoon, the initiative kicked off with an immersive experience at SXSW, where festival-goers were be able to walk in the characters' bloody footsteps before they made the ultimate sacrifice for the throne themselves.

Design was tasked with creating a unique look that felt on brand for Game of Thrones, but differentiated and recognizable. The art itself was created to look as if the blood spilled of the characters portrayed made the portrait. Violent sprays coupled with drips speak to the violent and gradual pace of the show.

POSTER DESIGN

Inspired by the shape of the cross in the American Red Cross logo, we started with type treatments that required the viewer to read the text like a cross — oriented top to bottom, left to right. In the end, HBO liked the simpler, more marble bust-like treatment.

The #ForTheThrone campaign is a series of showcasing both what fans and brands would do for the throne. To kick off the campaign, Bud Light sacrificed their famous Bud Knight.
