CENSUS 2020
I designed this awareness call to action for social media and have since turned them into posters. Politics is something I follow closely — it's an unhealthy hobby that often makes me the go-to person for explaining politics simply. Knowing that few, if any, peers knew about the census, let alone its importance, I wanted to create an awareness piece that informed people about what the census is and why its important to do it — even during a pandemic. The type was chosen for its modern twist of wood type, and the stars and stripes glyphs tie back to the country’s flag. The “XXX” in the upper left is illustrative of the respective census number one gets in the mail. The original post was shared so much, I was reached out to by a couple non-profits to use my designs to help bring awareness to minority groups.
